The National College Football Awards association is proud to present its national players of the week from 13 of its member awards for the weekend of Aug. 31.
This marks the second season the NCFAA has streamlined the process to release each of these weekly honors each week. Going forward, NCFAA players of the week will be announced each Tuesday at Noon ET through the remainder of the regular season.
In all, 14 total players are honored this week led by Miami QB Cam Ward and UNLV LB Jackson Woodard.
Following are the NCFAA National Players of the Week:

- Bronko Nagurski Trophy (Defensive Player): Jackson Woodard, UNLV (LB)
- Burlsworth Trophy (Walk-On): Davis Warren, Michigan (QB)
- Davey O’Brien Award (Quarterback): Cam Ward, Miami
- Doak Walker Award (Running Back): Ashton Jeanty, Boise State
- John Mackey Award (Tight End): Colston Loveland, Michigan
- Lou Groza Award (Kicker): Noah Burnette, North Carolina; Mitch Jeter, Notre Dame; Dominic Zvada, Michigan
- Maxwell Award (Overall Player): Cam Ward, Miami (QB)
- Outland Trophy (Interior Lineman): Jahvaree Ritzie, North Carolina (DT)
- Paul Hornung Award (All-Purpose Player): Travis Hunter, Colorado (WR/DB)
- Paycom Jim Thorpe Award (Defensive Back): Malaki Starks, Georgia (S)
- Ray Guy Award (Punter): Alex Mastromanno, Florida State
- Walter Camp Award (Overall Player): Offense: Tetairoa McMillan, Arizona (WR); Defense: Jackson Woodard, UNLV (LB)
Founded in 1997, the National College Football Awards Association includes college football’s most prestigious awards and its 24 awards have honored more than 900 recipients dating back to 1935.
