Kansas' Bryant, Virginia Tech's Tuten highlight National Players of the Week

The National College Football Awards association is proud to present its national players of the week from 13 of its member awards for the weekend of Oct. 19.

This marks the second season the NCFAA has streamlined the process to release each of these weekly honors each week. Going forward, NCFAA players of the week will be announced each Tuesday at Noon ET through the remainder of the regular season.

In all, 14 total players are honored this week led by Kansas CB Cobee Bryant and Virginia Tech RB Bhayshul Tuten.

Following are the NCFAA National Players of the Week:

Bronko Nagurski Trophy (Defensive Player): Cobee Bryant, Kansas (CB)
Burlsworth Trophy (Walk-On): Will Brooks, Tennessee (S)
Davey O’Brien Award (Quarterback): Bryson Daily, Army
Doak Walker Award (Running Back): Bhayshul Tuten, Virginia Tech
John Mackey Award (Tight End): Harold Fannin Jr, Bowling Green
Lou Groza Award (Kicker): Jonathan Kim, Michigan State; Damian Ramos, LSU; Peyton Woodring, Georgia
Maxwell Award (Overall Player): Cam Ward, Miami (QB)
Outland Trophy (Interior Lineman): Paolo Gennarelli, Army (OG)
Paul Hornung Award (All-Purpose Player): Ja’Quez Cross, Arkansas State
Paycom Jim Thorpe Award (Defensive Back): Cobee Bryant, Kansas (CB)
Ray Guy Award (Punter): Brett Thorson, Georgia
Walter Camp Award (Overall Player): Offensive: Bhayshul Tuten, Virginia Tech (RB); Defensive: Gabe Jacas, Illinois (LB)

Founded in 1997, the National College Football Awards Association includes college football’s most prestigious awards and its 24 awards have honored more than 900 recipients dating back to 1935. This season, 13 NCFAA awards will honor national players of the week each Tuesday.
